Magical Blue Mountains

Hello peeps

I recently spent a weekend in Leura in the Blue Mountains. It had been raining all week long in Sydney and the Saturday wasn’t looking much better to be honest. It was cold and miserable when I arrived there. I’ve settled into our accommodation for the night and had a late lunch at Leura Gourmet Deli & Cafe. This is a quirky little deli shop with a cafe. I love the strong green wall paint, reminds me of the green wall they use to film movies. The food was always delicious, every time I went there, and the staff was very accommodating.

Oh yum. Really delicious.

The weather was really pulling in with heavy fog which lasted through to the early hours the next morning. We left the hotel around 9am and made our way to the Sublime Point Lookout.

Wow! Oh wow, what a view! This was truly breathtaking looking down the vast valley and seeing the Three Sisters from the other side then the usual view. The low hanging clouds were adding to the beautiful panorama right in front of us.

After soaking in the fresh and crisp mountain air, we went to the Leura Cascades which was only 5 mins driving from there. I’ve checked them out in the fog the night before and  knew they would have plenty of water and surely I wasn’t disappointed seeing them in daylight. Unfortunately we were only able to see the upper ones since we had the dogs with us and they weren’t allowed further down.

I will certainly be back very soon. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the mountains.

I like my digital paintings where they fit and the waterfalls seems to be the perfect object for it. I show the one below in a triptych style, which very often is the image separated in 3 canvas panels. Stunning to look at it.

What do you think?
