Road trip Sydney to Melbourne – Part III
In part I and II you followed my journey from Sydney down the east coast of Australia to Melbourne. It was an incredible journey so far and I have seen parts of this country I have never seen before.
I was in Melbourne for a trade show during the week and had limited photographic opportunity but I had the chance to get out a couple of times. My hotel was conveniently located steps away from the Yarra River and I was fortunate enough to be greeted with views as below every time I’ve looked out of my window.
One night I’ve strolled pass the casino with its gas fired and flame throwing poles along the ‘Yarra’ and got stuck underneath this bridge. I like this old solid constructed railway steel bridges. It shows the great engineering we human beings are capable off. The river banks were busy with people roller skating, riding the bike or just enjoying a leisure evening stroll besides the cool temperature.
I have seen images from the ‘silver tips’ in Docklands before and I really wanted to find the place and see it for myself. Melbourne is a very ‘arty’ city and they turned those old, what I believe used to be a pier, poles into a nice display. The water was very calm that morning and provided me with some nice reflections in front of the Etihad Stadium and the sun tried to put on a display, wasn’t really successful though!
The week was going pass quickly and it was soon time to make my way back to Sydney.
More of that in my next post.
Thank you for stopping by.
