Road trip Sydney to Melbourne – Part I
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Melbourne and decided to enjoy this beautiful country side by car. I took two days to drive the 1150km.
I left early in the morning to get to the famous Seacliff Bridge near Clifton, just north of Wollongong for sunrise. The wind was blowing heavy when I was leaving the car but the surrounding hills gave me shelter when walking further out on the bridge. I was greeted with a beautiful sunrise and it was a great start to the day.
From there I continued my drive south along the coast and my next stop was at Werri Lagoon just south of Kiama. The walk to the cliff was spectacular and I got a good lookout over the beach. BUT the lagoon below was even better. It was a nice tranquil place to let your mind wonder.
From there I continued my drive further down the coast and past places like Shoalhaven, Batemans Bay, Jervis Bay and Bega. I didn’t go to Jervis Bay. I left this for my road trip in July. I got to Eden just before sunset and was rushing to get a good location but didn’t really workout. :) However, pointing the other direction was very appealing.
I stayed the night at the local caravan park which was very quiet due to late autumn and no school holidays. My spot was right at the lagoon. Really pretty.
Part 2 is following soon.
